Fire Resistant Fiberboard FR MDF
Flame-retardant MDF or Fire Resistant MDF is made of wood fiber or other plant fibers, and urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives are applied. In the glue spraying section, just like glue sizing, flame retardants are added to the production line to make boards with a density in the range of 500-880kg/m3.
The difference between flame-retardant MDF and ordinary MDF
Appearance difference: Flame-retardant MDF is a kind of functional MDF. From the appearance, it is red, mainly because the fiber is dyed with red dye according to the international customary calendar, so as to distinguish it from ordinary MDF.
Physical and mechanical properties Flame-retardant MDF is also MDF. First of all, it must have the physical mechanics of ordinary MDF to meet the use requirements. Due to the addition of flame retardants in the production process of flame-retardant MDF, it has a certain impact on the physical and mechanical properties, especially the impact on the coefficient of water expansion. If flame-retardant MDF with a large coefficient of water absorption is used, it will cause delamination of the board, failure to veneer, and even deformation of the board, which will eventually cause project quality problems.
Functional flame-retardant MDF has the function of fire prevention and prevents the spread of fire. Ordinary MDF will encourage the spread of fire.
